Who we are
The Good Life Wellness & Consulting was created from a shared journey — one that reflects not only Jason and Shelley’s personal healing, but the experiences, struggles, and strengths carried by many First Nations people and communities.
Like countless Indigenous families across Turtle Island, Jason and Shelley grew up in the long shadow of intergenerational trauma — the impacts of colonization, residential schools, cultural suppression, and the loss of language, identity, and connection. These wounds didn’t begin with them, yet they shaped their early lives in ways that felt deeply personal.
For Jason, this inherited pain led into addiction, disconnection, and the long road of reclaiming himself. For Shelley, it meant navigating her own layers of trauma, identity, and emotional survival. Their stories are unique, but the roots of those stories are shared by many Indigenous people who have had to learn how to heal from wounds they did not create.
But their story — like the story of so many First Nations people — is not defined by trauma.
It is defined by resilience, reclamation, and the decision to rise.
When Jason and Shelley came together, they found more than partnership. They found a shared understanding of what it means to carry generational weight, and a shared commitment to break cycles, heal deeply, and rebuild a life grounded in culture, love, and purpose. Their relationship became the foundation for support, accountability, and growth — a living example of what healing can look like when two people choose to walk that path side by side.
As they healed, they reconnected with Cree teachings, ceremony, and the wisdom of their ancestors. Smudging, prayer, seasonal teachings, and cultural practices became anchors in their home — reminders of identity, strength, and belonging. These traditions helped them reclaim what colonization tried to take: connection, pride, and spiritual grounding.
At the same time, they embraced modern wellness tools — trauma‑informed practices, emotional regulation, personal development, and empowerment techniques. They learned that healing is strongest when traditional knowledge and modern understanding walk together.
From this shared transformation — personal, cultural, and relational — The Good Life Wellness & Consulting was born.
This company exists because Jason and Shelley know what it feels like to struggle, to fall, to rise, and to rebuild. They know the courage it takes to face grief, addiction, trauma, and identity. They know the strength that comes from reconnecting with culture and choosing healing every day. And they know that their story is not just theirs — it echoes the experiences of many Indigenous people who are reclaiming their power, their wellness, and their future.
The Good Life Wellness & Consulting blends Indigenous teachings with modern wellness practices to help people heal, grow, and step into their strength. Through workshops, coaching, retreats, and traditional wellness products, Jason and Shelley offer tools that support emotional, spiritual, and mental well‑being.
But this is more than a business.
It is a continuation of a collective healing journey.
A movement toward cultural reconnection, emotional resilience, and personal empowerment.
A movement that honours the past, strengthens the present, and inspires the future.
A movement built on the belief that healing is possible — not just for individuals, but for couples, families, and entire communities.
Every workshop, every product, every teaching carries the same intention:
to help people break cycles, reclaim their power, and rise into the life they were meant to live — together.
This is Jason and Shelley’s story.
This is the story of many First Nations people.
This is our story.
This is The Good Life.
